Luyten’s Optimark corneal marker

Specially designed corneal marker for placing a crossmark on the patient’s eye when in upright position.

The corneal curve normally changes when patients are moved to horizontal position, but when using the Optimark you can determine the center of the cornea while the patient is still sitting behind your slit lamp.

After the doubling-prism of the applanation tonometer is removed, the Optimark is moistured on a sterile inkpad and placed on the tonometer. Now a crossmark can be placed on the patient’s cornea.

When the patient is moved to a horizontal position, the cross gives the correct position.
